If you’re at a loose end in London tomorrow morning, you might want to head down to the RSA for The social impact of the web: society, government and the internet. The event is free to attend and runs from 9.00am-12.00pm.
The event will be chaired by Peter Kellner of YouGov and speakers include George Osborne MP, Lee Bryant of Headshift, Tom Loosemoore from the BBC’s New Media team, Ewan McIntosh of edu.blogs.com and Adriana Cronin-Lukas of The Big Blog Company.
A prior commitment means I won’t be able to attend, but it does sound like an interesting event so I’ll be keeping an eye out for any write-ups of the event that appear online.

For anyone who’s looking for insight into the impact of blogs in different regions and countries around the world, the recently-published Corporate Guide to the Blogosphere would make useful reading.
The report, from public relations firm Edelman, highlights the fact that even though the blog phenomenon is global, there are important regional and local differences in how blogs are consumed and what this means for companies and organisations that want to engage with bloggers and their readers.
You can download the report here.
Disclosure: I was an employee of Edelman in London from 2002-2005, and its Interactive Solutions team is currently a client.
